Your Virtual Business Affairs Department

DIT Legal provides affordable business affairs and consultancy services to companies in the music industry.

With over 15 years of in-house experience working with major international music players, we deeply understand the daily challenges faced by established music companies, entrepreneurs, and start-ups.

We operate as a Virtual Business Affairs Department to deliver a more tailored, personal and practical approach to contract negotiations and business affairs management.

Our Services

Contracts Negotiations

We assist our clients with their music contract negotiations, from digital licences to music production and events.

Business Health Check

We offer a “Business Health Check” service to help clients spot potential issues, reduce litigation risks and ensures businesses are “Data Room” ready for fundraising or upcoming sales.

Business Affairs Departments Set-Up

We specialise in building business affairs departments, advising on organising documents and streamlining processes, allowing commercial teams to focus on growth rather than legalities.

In-House Short Term Assignments

We are available for part-time in-house assignments whether our clients need an extra pair of hands in their existing in-house legal departments or to assist with developing specific projects.

The Concept

DIT stands for ‘Do It Together’ a concept inspired by Steve Albini’s idea of moving from DIY to DIT, where highly skilled individuals could unite to bring any music project to success.

Working together is at the core of DIT Legal’s ethics. As a Virtual Business Affairs Department, no off-the-shelves, overpriced templates are being provided to clients; contracts and advice are always practical and personalized to our client’s needs.

Whenever our clients need assistance also with their licensing and commercial strategies, they can also tap-into the services provided by our affiliated brand Future Play Music.
